We have been made aware that members of the public are being contacted by someone purporting to be from TLW Solicitors and saying that they can recover cryptocurrency lost to scammers.
If you are approached by anyone purporting to be from TLW Solicitors, claiming to be able to recover money or cryptocurrency, this is a scam – you should not engage with these people.
These fraudsters are contacting unsuspecting individuals via email, promising to recover cryptocurrency – if you engage, they are likely to ask you to pay money upfront.
Scam email example
+ −When approaching people pretending to be from TLW Solicitors, this email subject heading has been used:
“Urgent: Regarding Fraud Case with Delta-Trend”
In addition, we are aware that the name ‘Nicholas Wilson’ from the ‘Recovery Team’ has been used in these approaches which also mention the ‘Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM)’.
Another indicator of this being a scam is that reference is made in the approach emails to ‘TWLSolicitors’, rather than TLW Solicitors.
Take action to protect yourself
