At TLW we value the opportunity to engage in the wider community recognising our responsibility to help others when we can. We are passionate about fundraising for charities and have completed a number of sponsored events over the years.
In 2019, we became Patrons of Meadow Well Connected, a community hub that has been based in North Shields for 25 years. Local residents can make use of their café, community garden or joinery workshop and enjoy days out, training courses and other specialised support services. Examples of the support TLW has provided, include Operations Manager, Wayne Christie, teaching Spanish to Meadow Well’s Positive Pathways group and also arranging a fundraising charity Gala dinner at the Summerhill Bowling Club in Newcastle.
Positive Pathways project
As well as the TLW team getting involved in standalone fund-raising events, TLW Partners, Peter and John have committed to the ongoing support of the charity’s Positive Pathways project that arranges activities and events focussed on wellbeing and reducing isolation and loneliness within the Meadow Well community. The project enables those in the community to have memorable experiences, such as trips to theme parks, the cinema, theatre and other attractions. With TLW’s backing, Meadow Well Connected can now organise and deliver a wider range of activities, outbound trips and excursions, which had previously been limited due to expensive transport costs.
TLW are also proud sponsors of Ross Tomkins, Managing Director of Therapy Direct, in his quest to climb Russia’s highest peak, Mount Elbrus and raising money for the Heel & Toe charity.
We also support Pathways 4 All, as a sponsor of their annual flagship event, the Pathways4All Ball and participating in other fundraising events over the years.
TLW has previously been a Gold Sponsor for the Calvert Trust Kielder annual ball and we actively support other fundraising activities for the Trust including outbound team building events.
With its longstanding experience of complex personal injury litigation at its core, TLW is a corporate sponsor of national brain injury charity, Headway.
TLW Solicitors are also proud to work alongside and provide support to One Punch UK, a North East based charity set up to raise awareness of the devastating impact that single punch attacks can have.
The TLW team are regular supporters of local North Shields charity The BAY Foodbank. Founded in 2012, The BAY Foodbank aims to provide emergency food provision to individuals or families experiencing a financial crisis. TLW staff donate food and toiletries to help those in the local community, particularly at times of need such as over the Christmas period.
